GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Quality Engineer interfaces with manufacturing and suppliers to analyze root cause of quality issues and resolve them. Examines and evaluates production processes through internal auditing; designs and installs quality control process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques; analyzes production limitations and standards. Formulates or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures. Develops the economics of any quality control program when required. Responsible for following all company and department safety rules and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
* Assist Quality manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
* Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
* Develop training to build quality awareness.
* Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
* Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
* Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
* Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
* Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
* Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions.
* Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
* Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
* Manage suppliers' performance and conduct audits.
* Track and improve cost of failure for the plant

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor of Science Degree.
· Must have a minimum of 1-3 years Quality Engineering experience
· Experience with Quality Defect Data
· Experience to include: PFMEA's; Control Plans; Work Instructions; Process flow diagrams; Capability studies/ SPC Techniques; 8D Problem Solving Process; Gage R&R's; Process Mapping; DOE studies; CMM experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of statistical software - JMP/Minitab
· Must have excellent computer skills (such as Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc)
· Quick decision making
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
