The Director of Marketing will direct and coordinate marketing strategies and activities for assigned brands and products. This role is responsible for initiating and executing:
* Growth platforms across the market
* Overall brand strategy
* Customer segmentation and targeting
* Long-term innovation
* Spending and pricing
* Product packaging
* Media promotion
* Leading a team that markets brands to a local, regional or global community using both well-established and innovative techniques
The Director of Marketing will report into the VP of Marketing and must work closely with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Consumer Insights & Research peers. This role must also engage cross-functionally with the supply chain functions, R&D, and other key functional areas. The Director of Marketing's team will direct and coordinate marketing strategies and activities for assigned brands, and will be tasked with driving the business in the following areas:
Duties and Responsibilities:
* New Product Development (idea generation, screening, concept development, and testing, formulation of marketing strategies, business analysis, production, market testing, and commercialization)
* Overall brand strategy, including brand architecture and brand positioning across all levels of our portfolio.
* Brand Equity & Share Growth (brand value, market share, brand and market growth, and decision-making for the effective handling of brands)
* Channel & Retail Customer Development (activities related to channel and retail customer growth and improvement)
* Consumer/End-user Communication (advertising, promotion, packaging, public relations)
* Marketing Research (planning, collection, and analysis of data relevant to marketing decision making and the communication of the results of this analysis)
* Long-term Innovation Platforms (consumer centric needs-based platforms, understanding and alignment across product marketing, products design, and engineering)
Qualifications
* Bachelors/University degree in Marketing or a related discipline
* 10-12 years of brand management experience with a proven track record of results
* 5-7 years of marketing team leadership experience
* Must be able to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
* Strong background in new product development
* Experience driving brand equity and share growth
* Extensive background in marketing research, consumer/end-user communication, and channel & retail customer development
* Creative thinking/problem solving skills
* Initiative & follow-through
* Strong project management skills
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
* Solid analytical skills and acute attention to details
* Ability to work effectively across functions
* Strong oral and written communication skills are required; must be able to present data and conclusions in an organized manner
Preferred Qualifications:
* Consumer Products Industry Experience
* MBA or related strongly preferred
