* Recommends business priorities for the coming year based on synthesis of analysis.
* Recommends channel / region objectives and strategies within area of responsibility, consistent with GBU business priorities, taking into account customer objectives.
* Makes category management recommendations to optimize performance of shelf set or catalog space, such as optimal SKU assortment, merchandising and shelf/ catalog layout.
* Recommends an annual plan relative to area of responsibility, supporting and providing input to annual GBU, brand, and customer plans (1-18 months).
* Facilitates cross-functional communication to ensure successful business results.
* Coordinates programs across channel and brands within areas of responsibility and ensures best cost.
* Lays the foundational thinking for upcoming line reviews within area of responsibility.
* Sets success metrics for plans, encompassing financial and non-financial metrics.
* Works with Finance to ensure plans meet GBU financial requirements.
* Leads the coordination of line review activities within area of responsibility, in collaboration with Sales and Brand / Channel. Works with sales to drive pre-sell activity with customer, manage/drive expectations, and establish mutual goals for the meeting.
* Ensures that line review recommendations are consistent with strategies and plans.
* Participates in line review meetings and represents the brand and commercial aspects of marketing (if brand team is not present).
* Helps develop collateral for line reviews.
* Provides input to and executes the plan, overseeing the creation of promotional programming, such as in-store merchandising signage or displays, retailer feature ads, catalog layouts, events (trade shows), and channel-specific marketing support materials. Ensures consistency with brand guidelines and point of sale.


Pricing and Trade Fund Guidance
* Provides channel / regional perspective and needs for setting new product pricing with Brand / Product team.
* Collects and analyzes channel / regional pricing and distribution for NWL and competitive brands.
* Collect and distribute trade partner margin and pricing expectations.
* Collects and analyzes channel / regional promotional pricing and pricing activity in line with programming requirements and cost-to-serve, within GBU pricing guardrails.
* Collaborates and analyzes the business case with Sales for customer price exceptions, delivering to Sr. Channel Manager or Director for approval if different than list / invoice / net price and pricing strategies and guardrails. GBU approves all price exceptions.
* Tracks, analyzes, and reports potential impact of pricing exceptions on channel / region.
* Tracks and analyzes NWL brand and competitive/promotional activity price within area of responsibility. Advises on pricing actions for GBU approval.
* Understands what trade funds or customer program spend is available or needed for programming.
* Ensures that trade funds are being used to promote brand growth.
Brand Stewardship and Merchandising Innovation
* Provides insights into growing brands, profitably, at Point-of-Sale based on brand positioning an understanding of customer strategies.
* Provides customer specific feedback in the CDI process for new product development:
* Shelf pack/package sizes, product requirements, customer limitations, etc.
* Managing volume and sales inputs for forecasting tools.
* Works with cross-functional team to develop innovative merchandising solutions and packaging and POP communication to win at customer's point of sale accompanied with ROI metrics.
* Ensures new innovation and merchandising solutions comply with customer merchandising strategy and requirements.
* Provides organization with direction on launch activation within their customers.
* Analyzes results at the channel / regional level of new product launches and merchandising initiatives. Utilize this information for recommending future projects.
Financial Management
* Participates in recommending base and stretch financial goals for the upcoming year for customers/channels/regions.
* Delivers profitable product mix
* For the retail partner/at the customer level.
* For the business profitability.
* Identifies business risks and opportunities.
* Manages channel / regional P&amp;L's within area of responsibility.
* Focus on net sales and GM.
* Generates and reviews financial analysis on promotional activity, line review strategies, merchandising, pricing decisions, co-marketing activities, etc.
* Engages in S&amp;OP process to provide input, working collaboratively with cross-functional partners to
* Works to improve forecast accuracy.
* Reduce finished goods inventory and E&amp;O, and prune unproductive SKU's.
* Execute and monitor exits and changeovers.
* Tracks and maintains appropriate cost center budget elements and communicates issues.


Organizational Development
* Advises and gives input on channel management organizational structure.
* Collaborates cross functionally with all functional areas and/ or RGBU's and regions/countries.
* Executes and offers input on simplification of appropriate business processes to increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Supports corporate strategy alignment.
Talent Management
* Works collaboratively with HR to recruit, develop, and retain diverse, high-performing channel management talent, where applicable.
* Develops the skills for self and Channel Management team or mentors teammates.
* Manages the PMDP process for self (and direct report if applicable).
* Creates timely performance appraisals.
* Reviews PMDP with manager, and creates actionable plans for self improvement.
* Collaborates with Channel Management peers within business unit and group to share and apply best practices.

Qualifications
* 
University or four-year college; MBA preferred.
* 
4-6 years combined channel, brand management and / or sales experience.

Experience
