Sr. Supply Chain Manager in Canada

This is a job summary which includes essential job duties of the position. More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for particular locations and facilities

* Work closely with the Third Party Logistics (3PL) Management team to ensure Newell Rubbermaid (NR) customer requirements are met for the 5 Global Business Units (GBU's) operating out of the consolidated Distribution Centre in Toronto.
* Establish a working relationship with the 3PL Distribution partner to help them meet/exceed Key Productivity Indicators (KPI's) for the facility.
* Provide forecasts of future expected shipping volumes to the 3PL to assist them in their manpower planning.
* Provide 3PL with details of upcoming promotional activities to drive efficient, on-time shipping of promotional orders.
* Support 3PL and NR Canada Finance team in development of annual budget for the DC ($10 MM annually).
* Provide guidance to NR Finance Leadership on 3PL services that are valid expenditures under the 3PL contract.
* Participate in monthly DC business review with 3PL and provide facility metrics from a NR Canada supply chain perspective.
* Provide regular monthly distribution centre status updates to NR Canada and NR Corporate executive teams.
* Recommend asset and software system investments for the DC in conjunction with 3PL partner.
* Track 3PL shipping issues and work with them on weekly root cause analysis and corrective action; communicate progress to NR Canada executive team on regular basis.
* Work with NR Canada Sr. Systems Analyst to ensure SAP and Warehouse Management systems and transactions are being used correctly by 3PL.
* Review inventory cycle count results on a monthly basis and all inventory adjustments on a weekly basis with 3PL Inventory Control Manager.
* Support NR Canada materials team to resolve inventory receiving issues and work with U.S. source plants and import buyers to correct shipping issues from all suppliers globally.
* Work with the 3PL to accommodate proposed operational changes for the 5 existing GBU's in the DC; review proposals from any new GBU's wanting to be involved in the facility; provide recommendations to the NR Canada executive team.
* Communicate effectively with the Customer Service and Supply Chain teams at NR Canada to resolve issues and provide feedback concerning the DC as required.
* Take a leadership role in projects that benefit the NR Canada Supply Chain.
* Assist the Supply Chain Director in setting goals and objectives for the functional leaders in the Canadian Supply Chain team.

Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree (business, logistics, supply chain or related fields); MBA graduate degree considered an asset.
* 10+ years' experience in supply chain management in distributionandin one or more of the following areas - logistics, materials/production planning, demand planning, S&OP, customer service.
* Proven track record of success in progressively responsible supply chain management roles in companies with annual sales over $200 MM.
* Experience working in an ERP operating system environment (SAP system experience a definite asset).
* Experience managing a distribution centre for at least two years; the DC operates using a Warehouse Management System (PKMS system experience an asset).
* Excellent computer, communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work with a team to accomplish goals.
* Effective planning, organizational and decision-making skills are required.
* Consumer products industry experience considered an asset.
