The main purpose of this role:
The Chemist will be responsibleMaintain and update data on Infodyne software and thisis a key Resource in the EMEA organisation with the aim to re-build MSDS of products requested by new EEC regulations on product safety (GHS/CLP). There is already a portfolio of more than 900 containing 576 substances. As a result, all EU imported products suppliers will be contacted as part of this process.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN ACTIVITIES also involve:
From formulation information given by the management, the Chemist will request all necessary raw materials safety data internally or directly from the suppliers. He/She will also write the MSDSs using Infodyne software and technical assistance
Other responsibilities includes:
To build the link between chemical substances and products sold in EU, volumes monitoring included.
Make all company products sold in Europe compliant to EEC regulations before December 1st, 2010 deadline.
Pass successfully all government inspections about safety for any location and any activity (manufacturing, storage,...).
Qualifications
*
Education: DUT or BTS in chemist at least 5 years exp. Or young Chemical Engineer
* Fluent in English language is imperative as the role will work with customers/stakeholders across Europe.
*
Chemical safety and regulatory knowledge and the ability to search information by different ways and results oriented.
*
Good relationships with people from different jobs and companies.
