MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage the relevant GBU product category in the development of regional brand / product strategies and execution of new product launches, including forecasting, budgeting and marketing plans for his / her brands to achieve company's sales and profit goals.
* Plan, develop and execute marketing, promotional and brand-building programs. Develop and implement APAC marketing know-how database and product knowledge management. Generate and evaluate strategic data to support decision making process of the APAC and Headquarter unit.
* Maximize relevant market potential via consumer research and customer insights to develop products to meet the diverse needs of the APAC consumers.
* Liaise and work very closely with regional segment and sales team to support RCP business in APAC.
GBU Responsibilities:
* Lead marketing for regional arm of GBU for their designated product category, acts as the main liaison between regional sales and marketing teams and the GBU product category ensuring the GBU strategy is implemented in the region as well as driving commercialization and localization of said strategy.
* Responsible in reviews on a regular basis the financial performance of the GBU in the region. When necessary discuss issues/concerns and develop action plan with local markets to boost sales.
· Works closely with all APAC regional support staff to ensure successful achievement of the company's strategic and financial objectives.
New Product Development Responsibilities:
· Leads primary research initiatives/secondary research in line with New Product Development process to generate concepts for input into Milestone 0 for consideration as regional product development initiatives.
· Interprets analyses and makes recommendations from all market intelligence e.g. sales force, field trips, market research etc. to the GBU for the development of local and global new products. Oversees ongoing monitoring of regional competitive activity to ensure insights on product category and new product development.
· Manage local and global New Product Development projects. Observe and follow Milestones Process participates in PDR reviews and pursue collaborative and productive relationships with NPD team members.
· Take control of and project manages all aspects of regional product development oversight and full commercialization strategy for their product category new product launches.
Marketing Responsibilities:
· Interprets, analyses, and makes recommendations from all market intelligence e.g. sales force, field trips, market research etc. to the GBU for the development of Global as well as APAC programs. Oversees ongoing monitoring of regional competitive activity to ensure focus is maintained on determining market pricing, gaining shares and responsiveness to threats.
· Maintains and controls marketing expense budget for GBU product category. Responsible for respective brand & product related spend & activities.
· Engages in close and ongoing contact with end user marketing team and local market sales and trade marketing personnel including regular market visits to ensure alignment of GBU strategy and responsiveness to market and end user needs.
APAC Regional Support Responsibilities:
· Support sales teams and customer needs for training and product information. Leads and inform country sales team as to product category strategies, focus and priorities
· Collaborates with sales team in development and monitors execution of a calendar of trade marketing / promotions in each market which is in line with GBU product category strategy and drives key performance metrics
· Oversees all forecast submissions and product planning with Supply Chain Team
Qualifications
· Minimum of 8 years concrete experience in commercial products industry covering both sales and marketing experience
· B2B experience preferred
· Experience in new product development and consumer research
· Demonstrated performance in marketing programming and promotions strategies
· Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or related discipline
· Regional Asia Pacific exposure in a global MNC environment is desirable. Good understanding of different markets throughout Asia Pacific
· Proven New Product Development track record
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to details
· Strong negotiation and presentation skills
· Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to handle tasks and assignments simultaneously, set and work to deadlines and priorities
· Aptitude for and understanding of design and engineering functions
· Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese, Mandarin & Japanese (if possible)
· Good presentation skills
· Able to work with PowerPoint, Word, Excel
