>Job Description:
Current R&D organization is structured by product categories. Considering the amount of current active development projects, it is not feasible for a director to fully understand every single detail and oversees projects status, progress and budget. In order to run the organization more effectively, it is crucial to assign an engineering manager by product category.
>Main Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Followings are job requirements, as a top of the assigned categories. Assigned categories, responsibilities and priorities may be changed depending on the business circumstance.
Attend new product development planning meetings/workshops prior to the responsible engineer is assigned.
Fully understand the development schedule and action item list that subordinates create. Support and provide technical directions/advise as need.
Put together weekly report to update R&D director with each project status from cost, timing, scope and quality stand point of view
Attend various meetings in related to design including external organization such as industrial designer and suppliers
Review and pre-approve rough estimates for the tooling as well as components that are submitted by engineers
Collect, review and approve the engineering deliverables required per each gate in accordance with CDI development process.
Put together project budget and control/monitor the spending within the given budget
Confirm and approve the design change, drawing release, BOM, validation test results
Lead/drive team in case of post-production quality issues
?Prepare/attend Quality meeting, Operation Review etc as required.
?Coordinate/collaborate with other organizations in case of critical situation
?Resource Management
?Various approvals such as expense report, business trip, time sheet, Ringi, p/o etc
?Goal setting and performance evaluation of the subordinates
?Educate/increase subordinates' technical skills
Qualifications
>Qualifications:
* 4 year mechanical engineering degree or above
* English and/or Chinese
>Other Skills:
* Mechanical Engineering background with over 10 years experiences using 3D CAD (preferably ProE) from the initial design to product launch
* Minimum 5 years of managerial position with 5-10 subordinates
* DFMEA, FEA Knowledge
* Fundamental Quality background/knowledge such as FTA, Naze-Naze analysis (5 why), Fishbone, Initial quality control, Process capability
* Positively challenge new things/attempt
* Strong sense of responsibilities and commitment. Excellent communication skill. Work well in a team environment.
* Ability to travel overseas, mainly in China
* Experiences in Automotive or Automotive suppliers and/or project management experiences (preferred)
