Description
Manages?Aprica & Graco brand overall communication to establish/strengthen brand equity, create consumer demand, market share, sales, and profitability grounded in deep consumer, product, and market understanding. Leads both brands' and products' communication strategy development, integrated marketing planning & execution, retail marketing planning as well as web/social media management and brand PR, and manage total Advertising and Promotion related budget. Manage total 7-8 direct reports via Giving direction and coaching to them. Works collaboratively across with category team and outside specialized (advertising, digital marketing, PR etc.) agency to develop strategy & plan and drive business results. This position will mainly focus on Japan business first, reporting to marketing director then expand responsibility to Asia Pacific markets as he/she demonstrate capability and skill.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead Yearly Integrated Marketing Planning Process:
* Recommends marketing objectives and strategies, consumer bulls-eye target, and A&P budget for the upcoming year.
* Manages an annual situation assessment, which analyzes overall brand and business performance, effectiveness and efficiency of media activity & key promotion & competitive activity. Recommends business implications from key conclusions.
* Works collaboratively with category team and marketing agencies to develop an integrated marketing plan that achieves marketing objectives and is on budget for brands (Aprica & Graco) and key products category in each brand. Leads development of marketing programming with cross-functional departments and external agencies. Works collaboratively with media buying agency to develop a media plan.
* Develop channel and customer-specific point-of-purchase trade plans to ensure consistency with marketing objectives and strategies, and marketing plan.
* Lead channel marketing to develop customized channel marketing/promotion focusing on top 5 customers closely working with sales account team.
* Work with event marketing to develop strategy and plan for event marketing mainly targeting pregnant women.
* Works collaboratively with finance and consumer insights to estimate ROI for A&P initiatives/promotion and media. Builds findings into strategies and plans
Brand equity management:
* Ensure all the brand related communications are in line with defined brand positioning and design guide.
* In case Brand positioning needs to be re-considered, support marketing director to re-define brand positioning and design theme/guide collaboratively working with advertising/design agencies.
* Support brand related communication development (e.g., catalog, web-site, etc..)
Consumer and Market Insights:
* Works collaboratively with consumer insights to understand target consumers media contact behavior and relevancy of each touch points as basis of developing sound integrated marketing communication planning. .
* Works collaboratively with consumer insights to understand shopper behavior and shopper's insights to develop sound channel marketing strategy and plan.
Budget & Financial Management
* Manage total A&P spending plan development and control in accordance with finance guidance for total year as well as quarterly basis.
* Recommends how to pace A&P spending to manage financial risk. Improves marketing ROI.
* Works collaboratively with finance, channel, and operations/sourcing to track cost and drivers of cost and identify opportunity to reduce the cost related to marketing execution. .
WEB/Social Media/PR management
* Work with WEB manager to develop WEB/Social media strategy for each brand and implement plan.
* Work with PR manager to develop PR strategy for each brand/key initiatives and implement plan.
Organization Role and Structure and Talent Management
* Assigns employees clear projects and tasks, and coaches and develops their skills. Completes PMDP process for self and approves all direct report(s)' PMDP(s).
* Collaborates with brand management peers to share marketing best practices.
* Uses appropriate decision-making and approval processes in a timely manner. Makes recommendations to streamline and simplify brand and business processes. Manages the overall 'day-to-day' operations of the brand and business.
Works collaboratively with marketing communications in development of a clear statement of work or project scope and compensation for all marketing agencies before beginning work.

• Bachelors/University degree required
• Minimum 7 years of brand management or marketing communication experience with a proven track record of results
• Experience driving brand equity and share growth
• Extensive background in marketing research, consumer/end-user communication, and channel & retail customer development
• Creative thinking/problem solving skills
• Initiative & follow-through
• Strong project management skills
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Solid analytical skills and acute attention to details
• Ability to work effectively across functions
• Strong oral and written communication skills for both English and Japanese are required; must be able to present data and conclusions in an organized manner
Preferred Qualifications:
• Consumer Products Industry Experience or advertising/communication agency (as account or strategic planning)
